Information for drivers
To make this carpooling project successful, we need drivers to sign up and make rides available to others. If
you are already making trips to the hospital for work, why not post them on Travel Ready and take advantage
of some great benefits?
- Save money – if you pick up passengers, they will contribute money toward the cost of your trip.
- Park in the Travel Ready designated parking spaces (first-come-first-served). Please see the map below
for locations.
- Help reduce emissions – every passenger travelling with you could be taking a car off busy Wellington
roads, reducing congestion at the same time!
- Participate in our points-based rewards scheme. Some great incentives are on offer for regular users of
the app! Check the rewards page here.
How to post a ride:
- Input your departure and arrival times for each trip (to and from the hospital).
- Select the day or days you will be making this trip.
- Input your vehicle details and the number of seats available.
- Indicate how much you will charge per passenger (this is capped at the maximum value dictated by New
Zealand Legislation). For more details, visit this site
- Select if you want to receive money electronically or by cash.
- Name your carpool and input any relevant details or notes to passengers.
- Wait for passengers to book a trip with you – you can communicate through the app without giving out
contact details.
- Make sure you live track your trip so that it appears on your calendar and you can accumulate points to
use on rewards! Check the rewards page.
